Care guide

All pieces are handcrafted in Sterling Silver, Solid Gold and Gold Plated Silver and although all are durable materials, they are not indestructible. Please read the below tips for loving your jewels and keeping them safe and shiny.

Looking after your Gold

Angharad Gold jewellery is handmade in either 9K or 18K solid gold. Gold is one of the least reactive chemical elements and will therefore generally stay lustrous. However, a little work with a jewellery polishing cloth can go a long way. For every order we include a complimentary polishing cloth for both Gold and Silver.

Looking after your Silver

Silver jewellery will naturally tarnish a little over time. We recommend a jewellery polishing cloth to keep your silver shiny. For every order we include a complimentary polishing cloth for both Gold and Silver.

Looking after your Stones

All precious stones set in Angharad Jewellery are natural and the durability of each stone is dependent on its hardness. Daily life comes with knocks and bumps which can allow settings to weaken and stones to dislodge. To prevent this from happening we recommend taking off your rings before commencing manual labour/DIY and any other activities that may put strain on your hands and therefore on your rings too. Stones set in necklaces and earrings are a little more protected but are still vulnerable to swimming (salt and chlorine), perfumes and extreme temperatures. It is best to take off your jewellery if you are entering a situation that could have a negative impact. Since many natural gemstones can be quite delicate, hot water, harsh chemicals and cleaners should be avoided and we recommend just using a dry cloth to keep them sparkling. We also recommend sending your Angharad pieces with stones in back to our studio every few years for a checkup and a clean. Alternatively, you can take your jewels to a local jeweller who will be able to check on the settings too.

Looking after your Gold plated Silver jewellery

To ensure that your gold plated pieces remain as shiny as possible, we advise you not to wear them whilst showering, exercising or swimming. Please be careful to avoid contact with oils, lotions, perfumes and makeup. We recommend that you take off your plated jewellery before exercise as plated jewellery and perspiration are not friends. Gold plated jewellery is a little more fragile and needs a little more love. Clean gently with a soft cloth and nothing else. If the plating wears off with time we can offer a plating service to get your piece looking brand new.
Please email help@angharadstudio.com to purchase.

Keep your jewellery in a cool dry place and handle with love.
